Re: CB Radio - Where have you fitted yours
And given that most of Cornwall only has patchy mobile phone coverage unless you are on 3 or O2 the CB wins hands down..... Unless you are licenced to use other frequencies.....

Re: CB Radio - Where have you fitted yours
Around where I live there are VERY few folk to talk to these days and I can go for days on end with it on ch19 and never break the squelch. Years ago there were lots of folk on the air (and some right idiots as well !).
I think it must vary to some extent on where you are. I believe Sheffield's airwaves are still quite busy ?
How busy are the CB airwaves where you live dear reader ?

Re: CB Radio - Where have you fitted yours
Just thought I would post a couple of pics on using a gutter mount on a Hi-Top because, if you mount it properly, i.e. as close "in" as possible it will foul the Hi-Top. The solution is to hacksaw off a good bit of the "top plate" bit of the mount so it does not foul / rub on the fibreglass top. You still need to have it canted out at a bit of an angle, so the commonly available "DV27" bits (as per picture) sort that out. I hate to have aerials that are not "true" in every plane !
