Hi People
Firstly its been awhile and Im sorry to be asking but some good sound advice would be really appreciated, Ive not had a T25 for awhile and in some respects still maintain my T25 Atlantic pop top is still the nicest van Ive ever owned, being from an early Aircooled background mainly split buses..
But Ive recently bought a 2wd Tristar crewcab as working toy (always loved em and wanted one) Its running a 2.1 dg motor and im looking for options to convert it or do I LPG it... Its done just over 200km swedish and runs very nice... (LOL still havent collected it) got to MOT straight off, I have a longish trip (bridgwater,somerset to dundee in the near future to pull a 54 oval beetle back)
I had a T4 for a short while that was gorgeous LW based that had a 1.9 TDI conversion, but sold it just couldnt get on with the builders van thing, to me (an I aint knocking em) it aint a traditional VW van... But I did buy a fully rebuilt 0 mileage 1.9 TDI motor as a spare, 1997/98, maybe 1996, new pump, alternator, new turbo, balanced crank rods and piston.. (long story to it) BUt its sat in my garage amongst endless other Aircooled engies lol.... But as it was a direct replacement no ECU or loom.....
So can I use it, i havent got a big budget, as I caught a big cold last year with a split (a 1960 walk thru 15 window) which I paid alot for expecting to tidy it up abit of fetling and welding and a repaint
an it was a bad banna, so far had to replace every panel.... sorry im digressing in a tangent.... so its sucked all my available money.... thats getting a 2.5 scooby lump just to pi$$ off the purists, ive got ginger hair its compulsive LOL, if i have my way it ll be sold an another atlantic ....
So any advice would be greatly appreciated, looking for a simple ish and cost affective conversion......
Thanks in advance
Mark Hopley

Ah, OK, one is a tad less than £1000 and the other (TDi) is about 2 to 3 times that (depending on how much you do yourself and how much you pay others to do
)
In my opinion it has got to be LPG
Assuming your engine is in good nick. Even if it isn't a re-con motor plus LPG is still WAY cheaper than all the complications of going TDi (engine mounts, bellhousing, wiring, gearbox ratios,fuel tank, exhaust system etc etc
)

In my opinion it has got to be LPG

Yes it's looking favorite. Although I've got through AHU motor it looks to be a ball ache.
