Coming at ya with a novice suspension question
Searching is boring, I'm going to the mouths of you horses!
OK, the syncro (doka) failed the MOT on a snapped rear spring today, so I need to sort out some replacements (already posted in wanted). I figure I have green springs on there from the factory, so could either replace like-for-like or go for something snazzy. The mega kits on Brickwerks aren't really a necessary upgrade that I could put through the business, although I'm sure they'd look mental! There are the MAD ones on ebay, but they're just the rears; can I go for just the rears or will it look like a bucking broncho? Also, if I go for longer springs do I need to get longer dampers or damper extenders?
Right, flame away......

Re: Comming at ya with a novice suspension question
If I was you I would try and avoid looking "mental" and keep things standard...also a snapped spring is NOT an mot fail anymore...rules have changed and unless the spring is likely to fall out its a pass and advise.

Thanks Lloyd, but driving without an MOT for that long would be pushing it, even for me (3 weeks is my record)

Yep, they're in my sights!
Re: Coming at ya with a novice suspension question
Tom, got a pair of 2wd drive ones I can send Monday with overnight courier. Welcome to borrow if they get you out of a hole, have got a handful off spring spacers, the factory plastic/rubber ones to pack them out/raise it a bit more.

I've sorted out some MAD springs for the back now. They'll raise the a*** up a little so I'll be wanting to raise the front. Don't suppose you managed to swipe some of the front spacers?

Not my style chap to take what's not mine. There are enough in the scene that do that already. Got a pile of plastic and rubber oe ones if it helps? Happy to bung them in a jiffy bag.

Re: Coming at ya with a novice suspension question
You'll get a massive raise with that MAD spring! 40mm + so you'll need extensions for the rear shocks. For the fronts, you could fit 2WD springs, might get it somewhere near even.

Are the MAD ones the blue ones Ghia sells on ebay?

Are they thicker ones? If so awesome!

Will be doing so with the rear dampers. Are 2wd springs safe to use, and how come they're longer?!
Re: Coming at ya with a novice suspension question
Will dig them out tomorrow and measure and take pics for you chap
