Where would I be without this forum !!
1988 water cooled T25 recently acquired and still debugging.
Ok I replaced the speedo assembly with a used one as the odometer did not work on the previous speedo assemble amongst other things. I cleaned up the whole instrument pod and noticed the LED for the oil light was missing so fitted a new one. I re assembled everything and when turning on the ignition the oil light flashes ( which I assume it should) then goes out when the engine starts. However if I rev up the engine the oil light starts to flash and I can hear a buzzer ( or a relay buzzing) coming from the speedo assembly. So why is the oil light flashing when I rev up ? and is there a warning buzzer associated with the oil warning light once the engine starts. If I just let the engine idle on starting the light and buzzer do not come on. Thanks in anticipation.

Re: oil warning light and buzzer
You have what is referred to as BoD ( buzzer of doom)
It's is designed to warn you that oil pressure is low, and assuming you have been driving the bus without knowing and it hasn't gone bang, it may well be an electrical issue!
Search BoD in the tech pages or wiki !

Re: oil warning light and buzzer
Thank you Steve having fully researched all the material I see now there are two sensors in series electrically and it is probably a bad connection or problem sensor with the high revs / low pressure sensor ( the one that's difficult to get to ! clearly the previous bodgers had removed the LED warning light and disabled the buzzer which I have replaced by changing the speedo unit which contains the buzzer. I shall continue my delving.

Re: oil warning light and buzzer
How are you getting on with this?
I inherited this on a caravelle I bought last year, turned out to be the wiring loom where it comes into the van up behind the fuse box.... But start at the sensors and check back towards the front of the van.... The twin plug and socket just near the thermostat housing is the most common culprit .......
I cheated, I ran a temporary wire straight from the engine bay up to the dash to test the sensors first, so I knew I was looking for a loom problem......
