What to use as replacement engine sound proofing/insulation?

Post by lowlifedubz »

Any thoughts on this?
The 'sound proofing/insulation' material which is supposed to be attached to the engine lid is totally shot, falling to bits, a good deal of it missing etc.... what are people replacing it with? I've found one or two products online but I'd rather take advice to be 100% certain. Not sure if you can still buy replacements from VW but I'm guess if you could they would be silly money for what it is.... Cheers.
