new wheels for wifes beetle

Post by keith »

Picked up some used 18 inch alloys for the wives bug.

They were corroded, scratched and had a good even dose of curb rash.

I had the tyres removed, sent the wheels for chemical stripping....which did a fantastic job. Then I used an orbital vibro pad to remove the curb rash.
Then..powder painted thru the works line.....first in silver...then in clear coat powder.

Might be my screen or the lighing on the pic but it looks a little dull to me. Like the style. I assume for a modern Beetle?

They look good Keith.

I see you are also posting on Evvo. I'm 'Noobee' on there.

Love the colour of your cab. It's going to look good on those wheels.

If you can get the wheels and tyres to me Keith (Nottingham) I can fit new valves/tyres and balance them for free...I owe you one.

I am what they term as a 'vocational' teacher in a secondary school specializing in Engineering and Motor Vehicle Technology. We have a purpose built workshop facility which includes tyre fitting and wheel balancing machines.
I'm in there tomorrow with 'Helga' fitting a new thermostat housing.. :ok

I must admit to be quite envious of you keith, having the facility to powder coat etc but I'm pretty lucky myself being able to use the School/college facilities when I like..obviously within reason.
