Jx turbo leaking oil

Post by bowesy »

I have a jx turbo and it is blowing oil through exhaust I have done some research and it seems it could be a seal or a blocked oil return pipe but I'm new to turbos so I was wondering if any one could tell by looking at the picture? I just want to make sure before I condemn this turbo or get it refurbed thanks bowesy

There is a small posibility that the return is blocked but as you have to take it off as part of the turbo removal you can check to see. Normaly seals though. Do know that running it in that state can destroy the engine? dont be tempted.

Hi mate, mine did that early last year after an AAZ swap. Thought it was the seals and considered having it reconned but still ran it!! After a couple of decent runs it cleared up and has been fine since.
I'm not saying that is your problem, but mine was stood for 3 months while I did the conversion.
