Try Chapter 10 Page 202 of the Haynes (if you've got the green one). It lists what each of the 12 fuses are for. Fuse 8 is interior lights, brake lights and cigarette lighter.
2ltr Aircooled CU with twin Solex's & originally a 009 dizzie, but now back to standard.
Thanks, I have the blue manual, what's the green one?? Chapter 10 is the braking system in my book. I did look at my book again and assuming that fuse 12 is the rightmost fuse the fifth from right is as you say interior lights, brake lights and cig lighter. Thanks
Just need to figure out why when I join two wires that look like they should be joined, this fuse goes? All this when just trying to fix the horn!?

Where are these wires? What are you seeing on them with a multimeter? Sounds like one's a live, but the other's earthed...

It is an aftermarket horn fitted by the previous owner. There is a switch in the dash for it too?? It was working then got faint and eventually stopped.
I was just checking wires and seen one wire connected to the bolt that holds in the fuse bracket with some black tape on the other end. Very near by was another wire same colour with a bit of black tape on the end of it. I made an incorrect assumption I think!
