I took the binnacle out again today and have spent a while mixing paint to achieve a satisfactory red/orange colour for the needles.

Its as close as i can get to that typical orangey red colour that you see on automotive needles. Personally i think its a very very close match if not exact, i'm happy enough with it to supply it as a needle colour with the kits now.
Interestingly, all the while ive been developing this i never actually thought that the orange needle would look very good. I had always been in the mind that I wanted it to look as 'stock' as possible so sided with the white needle. However since mixing up the colour and actually installing it i've changed my mind, the orange needle's look superb! They look great in daylight and even better once its dark.

Unfortunately it had got too dark to take any pictures of the orange needle in daylight (i'll take some tomorrow) but i've got some pics of it in darkness, see what you think. I left the rev counter with white needles to provide a really easy comparison.

Here's a shot of the system with the UV LED's turned off too, just to remind everyone what this whole saga has been about. As you can see, the gauge faces would be totally pointless with out them! I guess it proves how visible the needles are too, there's certainly no problem seeing them thats for sure. :ok

Hi,

I will give full instructions on removing and replacing the needles in the video I will be releasing.

Forgive me if I don't write it all out now, I'm up to my eyeballs in cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and UV paint at the moment.

Looks good Al. Will you be supplying the complete kits only or will you supply individual items, eg for those that want KPH dials?

Eh? Mine has kph speedo

That's the point Lloyd, you can buy a set of these and have Mph and Kph on your speedo... Surely it would make more sense for you to have Mph for all the time your in the UK, and kph for when you're not rather than Kph all the time?
But if you insist on wanting kph i'll ask the Germans, although i'm not sure they are still making them any more.....think they still have some sets on their ebay shop, but you wouldn't get the luverly green and orange bits on your rev counter.

Will you be supplying the complete kits only or will you supply individual items, eg for those that want KPH dials?

Sorry Dave, i've only got enough needle bits and bobs to do the amount of kits i've got to sell. I'll make some inquires tomorrow and let you know if i can sort anything.

Ah, ok.. Never knew you could just stick a mph facia over kph dial... Next pain in the a*** statement is that I have a lowly clock, not rev counter
so if this takes off for you, and you do further runs.......
