Speedo Problem?????

Post by Peninsulakid »

Hi Folks

Really would appreciate any help/advice on this one.

Syncro Panel van speedo works as a speedometer, i.e. mph all the time. Since I bought the van 18 months ago.

But the mile/trip meter has never worked.

All of a sudden, as a mile/trip meter it only works for the first drive of the day. No mater if its 20 miles or 2 miles for the journey. I have never tested it for longer than 20 miles as its a local working van and not a motorway mile eater. After that the needle registers the speed but the miles do not alter.

Could it be that when it s cold the cogs are a bit tighter and "bite".

I really would like to have it working all the time.

If any one can repair/service it or supply a new syncro diesel speedo I would love to hear from them.

Cheers Rich

I had a problem when mine froze. I pushed the trip button in twice slowly and it went back to normal. These are plastic cogs and they have been running for decades. Anyway give it a try and see what happens. Good luck.
:ok

ive read a couple of threads on here where it appears that the cogs have cracked and therefore spin on the spindle .
do a search, im sure you will find it. A s i recall it was fixed with glue :ok , hope you find it.
