And just in case you don't want to wade through all that thread

The EuroCarParts one is HERE

And the Ebay ones are HERE

Those eBay ones are 14.5 volts as opposed to 14 volts for the EuroCarParts ones, 14.5 volts would be better, but when I tested my Ebay 14.5 volt one it only gave 13.6 volts  That maybe / likely was just a bad one but the moral is = test your voltage after fitting. Start, run motor for 5 mins (or drive around) then, with motor at fast tickover measure.

By the way Retro82, you did not actually test your battery if I read correctly what you did

ghost123uk wrote:OK, Battery testing = Charge the main battery with a domestic charger over night. Then turn off the charger, leave the battery for an hour and measure the voltage. It should be around 12.9V (the higher the better). Then leave the battery (off the van) for around 8 hours or more and measure it again, if it has dropped much lower than 12.5 volts then it is not in good nick.

Retro82 wrote:Charged the battery full for 14 hours checked across the terminals and it was reading 13.2v I attached to the bus and let the engine warm up for a while idling the battery was reading 12.6...
If you want to be sure of your battery, follow my testing method ;)
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here
