ebber problem?

Post by Big Boris »

Hi all ,
ive been using my van to live in on site for most of the summer and using my ebber sucesfully on a regular basis ,but i tried to fire it up the other day and it started clicking but no fan noise ,so tried it again and nothing works now there is no green led light or fan noise or anything ,ive looked at the fuse behind drivers seat and that seams ok ,ive had the engine running and elec hookup so no worries there ,is there another fuse somewhere that might have gone ? ,the van is an 89 westy california with a 1.6td engine so it runs of the diesel ,there is no led display its just a dial with a switch and a green led ,any help would be greatly appreciated ,

Assuming that it is a factory fitted it most probably is a D2L. Some versions have a fuse in the ECU - the value should be marked on the ECU case.

just got around to getting the ecu out ,and yes there is a fuse its a T1 25/250v which is engraved in the end cap of the glass fuse ,the wire in the fuse doesnt seem to have broken ,i assume that if its the fuse then i will clearly see the wire broken :?

Not necessarily, it can rupture next to the end out of sight. A multimeter is the only sure way to check a fuse is ok

Fuse should be T 1.25 - I hope you have just misread it!
Time to check for leaves etc. causing the fan to jam and integrity of all wiring to and from the ECU. Have you altered any earthing points? After that it may well be time to strip it all down. When was it last serviced?
