jx / aaz power steering.

Post by ..lee.. »

hi guys trying to help a guy out that has been badly treated in the scene.

his engine has been " taken " complete. so i`ve had a std jx and fitted that. the power steering pump does not line up and we suspect that the van may have had a aaz in it originally and therefor we have the aaz ps pump.

has anyone used a aaz ps pump on a jx and what was needed to line the pullys up

cheers lee

My guess would be that the PS pump needs a specific crank pulley, as the PS pump will be driven from that ... there must be a bolt-on extension of some sort.

Well we are pretty sure it's an aaz pump and also sure with the bracketry we have moving the pump so the pulley is in line with the crank is not going to happen.

Either need as you suggest a solution to add another pulley to the crank or a complete Jx pump set up to match the engine.

Do you need a dual belt pulley one for alt and water pump and a separate one for the PS pump? I think that's how mine is. AAZ, not %100 I'm pretty sure it's a JX PS pump.

Well I think it'll be one of two ways either he'll have to buy a jx pump and bracket set up or possibly go down the saxo electric / oil pump mounted up front somewhere. Money is really tight as he's been ripped of to the tune of £2k already.

Yeah, it must be a JX pump, as the AAZ engine was never fitted from factory.

You kind of lost me guys. Are you saying I can run the aaz ps pump on a jx. If so what do we need?
