Hi, I am new to this web. but we are having a problem with my T25 ( Ambrose ). He is a 1981 air cooled Devon camper and he failed the mot recently on a few things, one of which was the emmissions. I have taken him on Saturday to a well known tuning place. The chap there said the was a slight misfire when idling which he has now overcome, so he should pass the retest. But, on driving home, he started to chug along ( especially in second and third gear) and accelerating was difficult. When I got him home and opened the engine up, there is a knocking noise and the engine is moving from side to side a fair amount ( not the usual !!). I have never had any engine trouble before and he appears to now be running to slow. My other half has checked the plug leads. Any advice ??? I have him booked in for a retest on Tues am, so we are a bit desperate for advice. Thanks, Nina.
Yes, I can be good at angry looks !! Don't know what my other half checked on the plug leads !! I hope to take him back there in the morning, thanks, Nina. ( take my van back I mean not the other half!)
thanks guys! I've taken him back this morning and the tuning chap adjusted the engine so it's now running a bit faster. I stalled all the way there !!! My mot retest is tomorrow so will get that done and then the tuning centre is having the van back in on Thursday to have a good look !. Fingers crossed.
