Hi,
I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but couldnt find the answer when I quickly searched.
Currently my 84 Doka (1.9 petrol) has a 'standard' dash. I have a chance of a T25 rev counter with the fuel & temp gauges in the bottom corner.
Whats involved in converting the existing cluster?
Thanks in advance

Re: Rev counter conversion
Changing the dash is a trivial matter. Just pop off the cover. Pull out all the switches apart from the lights light which does not need to be pulled out, its got a connector you can disconnect. Pull off the speedo cable. Pull off the 14 way connector which is reached under the dash to the right. Undo 4 screws.
Comes away as a single unit. Just put the new one in and see if it works, not all the older models have the tachy signal to the dash.

Re: Rev counter conversion
84 means you probably have the early wiring , ceramic fuses like beetles / bays?
this will mea your dash connector is vertical?
all revcounter dash's are post 86 , blade fuses and have a horizontal connector.
DO NOT connect it up.
the wires in the connector have to be moved around as they are not the same.
also you will only have 1 oil pressure switch on your engine ( factory spec) post 86 they had 2 , the 2nd works on a rpm sensor.( oil buzzer)
having a rpm sensor means the wiring for the tacho is in place , yours being early will not have this ( some imports or high spec vans do) so you will need to run a wire from the coil - to the dash
i also think from memory that without the rpm sensor the oil light does not work either . i did the conversion on my own van but that was aroud 8 years ago!
cant remember the wiring change , but it may be in the wiki somewhere.

Hi gmc,
This website is useful and should help you with the different wire connections required......

Good luck and happy revving!
