sorry, didn't make it clear. The 1.9 engine in the bus started leaking water, and dripping oil, so went to elite for a new unit - we payed a little extra and upgraded to the 2.1 unit. Therefore, the engine bay was set up for the carb and other 1.9 auxiliaries.

There are pros and cons to each I guess....but it runs well on the lpg, and as you stated, there are many of us around who have upgraded from the 1.9 to the 2.1 running the original carb etc

Ah I see. That's interesting. So many of the guys who have a carb on a 2.1 have upgraded from a 1.9. That makes sense. Why do away with the carb if it works well on a 2.1 right? And I suppose it would be difficult/expensive to find all the electrical gubbings, loom etc .

Are there any/many out there who had a 2.1 and converted to a carb? Maybe for the reasons I guessed at earlier in the thread? Or was I barking up the wrong tree? Wouldn't be the first time

Thanks,
Tim.

Just a quick update and thank you for all your advice that helped me fix Betty.

I finally got round to cleaning and remaking all the connections in the engine bay and the last one I came to was the ISSU. I was gonna try a test that I found in another thread (https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=111271) but noticed the ISSU was sitting in a pool of water behind the tail light so the test wasn't necessary. Dried it, cleaned it with WD40 and popped it back in and now it is running well.

Thanks again,
Tim.
