rear seatbelt fitting

im about to fit rear lapbelts in back of my t3 van,are there any mot do and donts when fitting them . im going to make my own brackets to fit the seatbelts to but do they need to be welded to body or can they be bolted.

I have bolted mine through a thick plate to spread the load. I did the same on my Morris Minor years ago with no problem. Check with your friendly MOT man to be sure!

cheers kenny, im gonna use plate to spread load just thought there might be some govermental law that says it has to be done a certain way,even though i will probly over engineer it anyway.

hi mick brackets are going inbetween the boards of r & r bed on the vertical metal work.hope this make some sense.

yes. if you get baxsters ones then drill the hole bigger and fit behind the panal, there is sound matting in the way, drill a hole either side and puddle weld through or 6mm nut and bolt to secure it and also keep it there , it wont move then nor will it pull through,
