Yup...as other have said....no point in refilling with fresh antifreeze only to loose it all over the road a day later.
Fix the leak first, then flush/refill.

Worth remembering, though, that leaving it with no antifreeze is not wise at all at this time of year - even overnight.

Booked into the garage for a new clutch to be installed and they will check the coolant problem at the same time.

Would it be utter MADNESS to use this for topping up coolant? The anti freeze currently being used is red.

Nope, the base chemical of that, BASF Glysantin G30, is the same stuff as used for the base of G12.

Ah - so thats why the antifreeze is red. Its just recycled reel-to-reel tape.
