Am I thick or what oil filler moment

Post by Ian and Lins »

Might help out new owners. We've had the van for about 8 years so no idea how many times I've changed the oil and topped it up but today I was topping up the oil and found that there was a telescopic tube on the oil filer tube that makes it MUCH easier to get the oil in! Wonder what we'll discover over the next decade?
Are we going on anything else?

Even with the tube pulled out, a "Fairy" style washing up liquid bottle, with a BIG hole cut into one side, makes the job even easier

I've got a very big tundish (funnel) with a flexible hose.
I actually found the washer bottle pretty quickly and the brake fluid res when the drivers carpet started getting wet with brake fluid.
Haven't put diesel in instead of petrol yet (but I did fill Lindsay's diesel Seat with petrol once...from empty right up to the brim )
Are we going on anything else?

We've got a small plastic funnel stored behind the catflap, wedged in between filler neck and coolant bottle.
