father daughter splittie project

Not a T3 but the daughter and I have to decided to build a splittie
First up we have built up the engine



This will be a nut and bolt resto

And Mike, lessons learnt. All in-house this time, will be built with our own hands. No '"specialists" allowed near it

So after a very filling dinner involving turkey, pigs in blankets, ham and stuffing me and Maia retired to the playroom AKA "garage" to carry on with the build.
The inner and outer sills went in pretty easy


and the rear bumper and exhaust bolted straight up

we then got on with laying the floor pans

and building up the rear corners

Front bumper and an expensive private number plate was next

after laying the engine bulkhead we called it a night

All is going well so far, all genuine VW parts, so fitting together perfectly

Got a little bit more done today, inbetween filling our belly's
hung the cargo door and fitted some shelves

and from the outside

made a start on the rear wardrobes

and got the kitchen sink in

We also squeezed in a second row of seats

Rock and roll bed now works

and the folding table

We then got back onto the mechanicals and bodywork..and got the front doors hung

Then got the gearstick, front seats and steering wheel all in and working

Tomorrow we should be on to the windows and roof

Well we have really been steaming into this project, some more cupboards have gone in and the windows along with curtains have been fitted on one side
