Hi there,
I have been pondering whether it would be possible to fit a water cooled dash binnacle in to my Aircooled ,reason being is to use the rev counter ,and maybe have the temp gauge reading oil temp,or block it off.
Is this possible and has anybody done it.
Cheers dazz

i have done this a few times , you either need to make a adapter up between the dash binacle and harness as if you just plug it in the indicators will come on when something else should as all the wires are totally in the wrong connections , i did it this way so if you ever need to swap it back its just a straight swap , or the other way you can just swap the wires around on the block connector, you also need to put in a resister in the printed circuit board as the Aircooled engine only has one sensor so it sets of the buzzer of at revs over around 2300rpm , as its a couple of years since i last did one , this only happened if you have the lights on ,

Why not mm plus it would be nice to have a rev counter to make sure I ain't revving the bullocks off of it

It could be some time because its all plans in the pipe line if you know what I mean, but I shall keep ya informed.
And if someone can give us the pin outs on the old and newer plugs I can see what I can do.
