dash in dash out

Post by de_foz »

right can anyone tell me what i've done all help appreciated, have just completed swapping my blower over and changing fuse for my wipers. had everything back together and working fine and was patting myself on the back with job well done only had speedo console to go back in. after hooking up the 16pin socket on back of console turn the key to flicking warning ligts and a clicking relay turned off straight away and on investigation looks like i have accidently knocked of the section on the back of the pcb. gonna try fixing this with a jumper wire as my next job. but now with speedo console removed again atill same clicking and shorting sound from fuse box does anyone know if i may have messed a relay up, no fuses have blown, but there no ignition or any sign of life from engine this is causing a bald patch due to major head scratching??? all help appreciated :)

Any chance you've pulled a ground lug (or two) off those two grounding points behind the fuse panel.
Doesn't exactly explain what you are seeing but weird things seem to happen when the grounds get messed with.

yea had thought that but have checked best i can best i can wih dash still in, and they appear fine plus everything was running fine with the dash board back in. the problem started when i plugged the speedo console back in. but as the title says maybe have to pull the dash off again give the spiders a proper check

What exactly was the damage you caused to the speedo console? (pics?)

Are you sure none of the fuses have blown? You might need to take each one out and test with a multimeter (sometimes they can look ok, but still be blown/damaged)
