Anyone got any tips for removing the cab headlining for re-use?

don't count on it being useable, even carefully done it'll never go back the same

but the fear for most people about taking the screen out will put um of ripping the head lining!

Aye but jim hes chopping the sodding roof of at the pillars ,me , I d fit a new headcloth. and why do folk fear taking the screens out? use stanley knife take your point though

put a new clean one in. They are only £50-£60

I'm thinking mega mat carpet and a nice storage space towards the front for sunglasses, parking tickets etc.

as micky says screen coming out anyway, wouldn't say it was mint but pretty good, don't see the point in tearing everything apart if it can be re-used, general consences seems to be it's not worth it so i'll cut it out.

You can remove it from the rear (if you can access it - depends on how your conversion is done in that area) and leave it hanging on the dash saving removing the windscreen rubber etc. It's pinched between the cab roof and some 'bendy' metal slats. Just carefully insert a flat screwdriver between the canvas and the roof metalwork and lever downwards - the slats will release their grip on the canvas. Do this all the way round to the front. You can remove the rear view mirror by twisting it but best leave if you can as it can ripple the lining when you put it back

Good opportunity to install an extra cab courtesy light over the passenger side door too

well your both right but......... sometimes the fabric has deteriorated to the point that it is errr fragile , then no hope of a decent in and out, but where its sound then yes with care....
£50-60 just get some headcloth from the local trimmers and stich a few pockets in for the wires and sorted, domestic machine will do it no probs
