Hi all, i noticed some play in the near side front wheel coming from the steering (about 2") ive checked the wheel bearings etc and they seem ok. My van is is a left hand drive multivan (whitestar) with power steering, the play seems to be coming from the the rubber boot area, i'm thinking track rod replacement but not sure.
Would really appreciate and info on what it could be and where to get the the parts required .
Cheers stephen

Re: play in steering near side
Two man job..one rocking the steering wheel back and forth, the other on there back with a torch looking to see exactly where the play is.
Could be track rod end, ball joints, upper wishbone rubbers or even the steering rack outter guides...you really need to have a closer look.
