Fitting a spigot bearing

Post by lloydy »

How far do you knock it in? Until it bottoms out, or when it's just 'in'?

Hi Neil, don't get what you mean. By flywheel, do you mean the end of the crank? Does it push in just enough so the whole bearing is in, or until it can't go any further?

sorry going mad ment the crank, it should sit in flush with the end of the crank, you should need a drift to tap it in as it will be an interference fit.

Bearing in the freezer for a couple of days helps, seal edge (usually with the writing on) towards the gearbox
