Winter tyres

Post by ermie571 »

Ok folks. Once again, I am trying to find some winter tyres for the daily.

Black circles have some nice tyres in the 185 r14 genre....but they don't have the C rating, as the manual says they should.
What do other folk put on please?

regards

Camskill advertise 185R14C winters from £35.90 each....no stock at the moment so maybe worth an email/phone call?

Also try mytyres.co.uk
There's no 'r' in bought!

Vredestien Comtrac All Season are good. Nearly as good as winter tyres in the snow but much better than snow tyres on dry and wet roads and quieter too. I use them all year round.

Camskill usually do good prices but not showing as in stock at the moment but the stock has just arrives at Vredestien Uk.

Hi Emma
any joy yet?
I am in market for some winter tyres and will be going for some of these:

I have for spare standard steel rims, which I had galvanised at beginning of the year, to put them on, so should then be sorted for big trip to Skandanavia maybe! :ok

I've got Hankook W400 on my old girl.
Theyve been a good tyre and quite hard wearing for a winter tyre.

Just watch what you get delivered. I ordered Vanco WInters from tyretraders and they sent the summer ones - they had none in stock, despite the website saying so.

I'm still trying to get some.

Got these delivered from Oponeo - thanks for the pointer! Was thick snow last night, so felt obliged to find the steepest hills in Inverclyde. Was amazed how well the van did with them on.

I use winter tyres on my cars every year, but wasn't sure how well the van would do. Best part was following someone up a steep hill in first. I could crawl along without so much as a slip, stopping when I caught up with them. I could take of on the hill with no spin!

Person in fron twas in a FWD C3, 4ooorpm the whole way, slithering from side to side. Winter tyres are the way :)
