Love it, some times it really does pay to research. Thanks any tips on what I'm best doing with locks etc. Or do I cut and weld old frame into new door?

As I said
Try swapping the door for the proper one. Someone may have made a mistake the other way round.

I'll start the ball rolling. Length of handle.
Also, from Brickyard:
Early and late door are not interchangeable, something to think about when purchasing a replacement. Door handles are also different as are the hinges. Early door handles are getting hard to find, expect to pay over the odds.

and Ive Bit :rofl
this needs to be in bodies so a mod will shift it soon,
to fit the later door on the early van i think there may be stuff in the wiki?
anyhow to fit your later door you will need to aquire the middle track from the later door, and you will need to modify the C post with a cut from a later van.
also on th B post the latching part is different.
the lock mechanisms are different as are the striker parts
good news is the top and bottom rollers are the same or shall we say they are interchangable.
it may help if each of you post up a decent picky of the doors you have that you reckon are past it and let me have a looksee.
mm :rofl
