Have also read on here about fuel lines breaking down inside....and thus causing fuel starvation as fuel cannot flow.

HT lead breakdown possibly, at idle disconnect them one at a time with suitable insulation from the disi, revs should drop when disconnected and rise as being reconnected any that don't are leaking probably sparking from the metal cap to the engine case not inside the piston, can also be coil or king lead obviously
