IMHExperience, you have to use the club hammer with about 9 times the commitment and swing to ever straighten a rim out, tickling it never seems to achieve much (other than laughter all round :D ) The flat back of an axe is a very useful tool too, swung heartily and accurately (so for 50 year olds and over these days then :) )
