Thankfully Autosleeper never made interiors like that....
It smacks of Holdsworth to me with a Autohomes pop top.

There is £3000-£4000 of welding there for restoration... not worth restoring unless it's a keeper.
Roadworthy work would be cheaper... but the van would be embarrassing to drive about for me.

Maybe you could do both? in moderation.
I wouldn't give up until you're told it's a financial wreck to you.

Is it a westfalia top though? Looks like an autohomes top but with westy stickers.

Welding doesn't worry me, neither does interior work, paint on the other hand

Identical, down to the covers and the way they are held up!

I am pondering over my best solution hence the post on here. It would be cool for us as a family to have as a day bus, going to the beach etc It isnt financially viable to restore it or even rebuild it as a true camper.

However, maybe the right thing to do would be to break it up and help keep loads of other vans going rather than saving this rather forlorn example!

Break it and buy another, way to far gone for a rescue. If it was your late fathers long lost camper, then maybe. But you just pulled this out of a front garden, parted with maybe £200? (hopefully) it will cost 4-5k to fix and most likely not be worth that. Good luck if you do go for the resto, you'll be mad, but I'd follow the build thread

A grand minimum, depending on what works and what isn't rusty

£500. Nay mind, not paid for it yet though so when I spoke to her about lowering the price due to it not actually being a westy, well, you can imagine how that went down!
