devon pop top

i am now the proud owner of a 1980 2.0l Aircooled Devon pop top and i was wondering has anyone or know of anyone fitting a roof rack to one. I only want it for my kayak and odd jobs and what have you. I there roof bars out there big enough?

Hi Steve,

I have the same van as you. It came with a customised roof rack to carry surf boards . The roof has 2 metal plates fixed onto each side and then two adjustable Thule bars to fit across. i've never tried to use them.
If you think they would be any good let me know but would need to be collected (Edinburgh!)

and if they are then got a mate coming down in a week or 2 from edin'br so thats part of the journeyt done

Sound defo will have them and yes it would be great if your mate could pick them up too.

Hi Steve- Attached are photos of one of the roof bars. Sorry haven't got a photo of the fixings on the van.You can see if you think they would be okay.
