Starter motor cables

Post by Donald360 »

I have removed my old defunct starter motor. The electrical connections disintegrated during the removal process and now need to be replaced. So now the ends of the cables from the battery and from the alternator have no ends. Is it possible to join a new battery cable onto the old one or should I replace the full cable? I'm sure I can crimp a new connector onto the remains of the alternator cable, but the 35mm heavy duty battery cable I think will need soldered or crimped by a machine. Also where can I get the rubber sleeve that used to cover the connections?

Any advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Donald.
