Last year my washer jets were working but were replaced as part of my resto. When I got my van back the the new washers did not work. About two weeks later they started working again and have done ever since. I just had some insurance work done on the van and you guessed it, the working washer jets were replaced again. The new ones don't work. If the problem is not the pump itself could it be a jammed water non return valve? Has anybody had a similar problem?
Cheers all. As I said above the washers stopped working both times the jets were replaced. The wiring was not touched on either occasion. Now after two weeks they started working again today. Still got a virtually silent pump. I am now convinced that this problem relates to a dodgy non return valve which has jammed after the fluid drained out of the pipes. That's my theory. Anyway saved wasting money on a new pump.

Are you saying the pump is running? Mine is just pipes off the pump; I don't think there is a non return valve unless it is integral to the pump. If the pump's running and no water's appearing at the jets due to the pipes falling off I'd have thought your floor would be swimming in it by now (or perhaps UNDER the mats).
I was just checking to see if anybody else has experienced a similar problem. It does seem odd that the washers should stop co-incidentally following replacement when they were working fince before. I know that these vans are quirky and wondered if anybody else had this happen to them, before I getunder!!! to check out the pump

They assured me that the pipes were connected up. Brendan I have never heard the pump it has always been incredibly silent which has always surprised me. I will check it out again and find out the problem. Cheers guys.
anyway, back to your front one; like I said, mine makes a right racket - so I'd put money on yours being 'broken' as opposed to 'silent'
try tw@tting it a few times with a screwdriver handle or similar. Found mine not working on the morning of the MoT so I removed it and gave it a severe talking to......

Ralf - yours is LHD, right? So the washer pump's just underneath your feet. Stand by the open door, ignition on but engine not running. Kneel down as far as you can whilst still reaching the wiper switch. Then wash. You'll hear it if it's running.
