Just a note, I once had a pair of very similar Hella fog lights, one on each top corner of the van, (Bedford CF = years ago) and I got "done"  for not having a visible red indicator light on the switch, to alert me they were on. You can get illuminated switches from most motor factors.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

After cursing crimp spade connections which kept pulling apart I got it lit. Another one going to be mounted on the roof as well.

Surely you wired your reversing lights through your reversing light switch on the gearbox or wherever it is on Bedford?

Not wired through the reversing lights, separate switch :?
This was a deliberate decision = I wanted a separate switch, long story re guitars, parties and camp fires

Take a look on the Beal site , they now do led cluster lamps as well as waterproof led work lamps. We use them a fair bit for lo-cost workshop consumables.

We found a really good solution for this without drilling into your van and fitting exterior lights to keep the stock look. I spoke with an MOT chap who owns Syncros and he told me there is no regulation for the lights being too bright, but lets say these are for "off road use" just to make sure.

We fitted two of these to Alan's van a few months ago while in Dartmoor just to try out and make sure they work and last before we started to sell them and I am glad to say they are awesome. Last night I fitted one to the LHS of my van to get some idea how good they are though using an iphone in the dark pointing at lights isnt going to give you the true splendor of these bulbs  They don't get hot being LED's so wont melt your lights
