Post by Cooper »

Wind screen washer isnt working.

There is power to wiper blades.

Fuses are fine and ive checked the wire conecrion to washer tank which has power but theres not buzzing where the wash tank could it be the motor in the tube thats buggered?

I'm sure this is covered in the wiki?
Did you look?

Simple test is to take the plug off the pump and introduce 12v from a wire straight from the battery ..... If it pumps its ok if not its a new pump job

Checked in wiki just a bit about wiper functions.

Theres fluid in the rubber pipe.

The cylindrical tube on the side of the washer tank does the have a motor in?

Theres no sound coming from tank.

The grey cylinder is the pump. It can be levered up away from the tank to remove it. If the tube attached is not easy to pull off, cut it through near to the pump then you can cut the bit left on the pump lengthwise to remove it. As previously suggested, apply 12v across the terminals. Noise - it works, Quiet - it don't.

Try slapping the pump about a bit, it might free it up and start running again.
Had to do that to mine the morning of the MoT
