you can check the VC yourself but to refurbish it yourself you'll need to talk to Jason - Hugomonkey

read the wiki and the Bentley manual for info on checking the VC and do a search on this forum there's loads about how to check it

AIDAN ffs

anyone who know's these buses could check it, your nearest expert is Clive aka Harryman, for the cost of a couple of portions of fish and chips, a couple of bottles of beer and a box of chocolates I'm sure he'd check it over for you

Perfect time of year to test it! Go find a muddy field and try and get stuck, will be quite easy if you only have 2wd.
Stick your head out the window when the rear wheels are spinning and see if the fronts are spinning as well

Just that I recall not long ago Harry..Clive...offered to try it for you...we seem to be going over the same ground again!

There is info on you tube, google, here...as well...or just drive it with the prop on and see...As for rebuilding your own....I think no is the answer in this case.

Max and caddy: do you have some sort of problem with me?

Many a time you have seemed the be antagonistic towards me.

I see that you havent been on the forum long like me, but you are trying to give off the impression that you know everything!

If you havent got anything good to say dont speek.

Clive has offered to check it for you before. If you are going to ask for advice take onboard what is said or take up the offer of help. Don't ask the same question a few months later when you haven't act on the previous offers of help and advice.

Also just because you have been on the forum longer than someone else it doesn't mean you know more. I've been here for a few years and still know Fxxk all!

I am thinking of taking up harry's offer if it still stands but as im putting my vw in for an MOT i would like the VC checked too. Saves on time. I only asked if a local garage have the ability to check or do i need to go to a specialist like syncro nuts.

Also i know sod all about t25s/syncros or even vws. But the way max goes around picking at what im saying it getting a bit weird.
