Diesel turbo boost gauge pipe length

Post by tim9768 »

Hi there everyone.
I am in the throws of fitting a xud7te engine into my bus.
I would like to install a boost gauge as I plan on turning up the boost once everything is done.
What i would like to know is: will the length of the boost pipe give a false reading as it will have to run from the rear of the van to the front.
Has anyone else done this?
Your help and advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

In a word, no.

Pressure wave will travel along the pipe very very very fast.
