Diesel leak

Post by getafix »

Hi all,
Towards the end of a long trip - Norwich back to north Wales towing a trailer and very loaded syncro camper we lost power accelerating away from a round a bout. She started missing and smoke billowed from the upper vents. We limped to a services to find diesel was leaking from the bottom of the engine, by all accounts lots of it! Due to have a five year old and a 2 month old baby (and the fact it was 11.30pm). We decided to limp home. We got home, and not much changed. Missing, lack of power and losing diesel. Any ideas??? Thank you in advance. Leo

If diesel is only coming out when the engine is running, check the injector lines. If its leaking as much as you reckon, you should be able to spot the leak pretty easy, especially in daylight
