Is this the correct accelerator cable? (with photo)

Post by williamraff »

Hi folks i have a 1983 diesel van but it has a 1V non turbo engine. The accelerator cable has been secured with a bit of tying wire, can anyone advise if this actually the correct cable for this engine / pump or is there a different one to suit?
The part of the cable that attaches to the linkage is just a piece of plastic with a circular recess in it, should there be some sort of spring clip in there?

Thanks,Will.

The plastic anti-vibration clips are missing from the injector pipes - replace them or you have fractured pipes to add to your woes.

Thanks OBG and well spotted, I will try and source some. It would appear from your diagram that I am missing the cable retaining clip - £6. 85 delivered from VW Heritage.

Cheers, Will.

Thanks for the info Simon,

Can you elaborate, anything you can tell me is a bonus, this is my first foray into the T25 world so not really sure what is what yet.

I live in Otley, not too far from you, I was hoping to get her up and running and bring her in for a look over.

Thanks,Will.
