Cheers Tom, I think I was inspired by seeing yours with the full width bed and westy pod! We need the space with the kids and after having numerous campers with 3/4 bed it will be a bit of luxury having all that space.
So where will the kids go? We have a nifty removable hammock above the front seats for the boy - its up in about 20secs and gives him plenty of room.
Think you'll go with a pop top at some point? Cooking hunched over those burners will get tiresome as I'm sure you're aware!
Who fitted the rear seat belts?
I'm wanting to turn my Dads old van in to a Syncro camper, so this thread its encouraging me to start thinking. Except its a twin slider, so I'm really up against it!
Yeah I've got to fit the can bunk still, I meant to do it today but the surf was good so have been a bit lazy with it.
I fitted the seat belts with the help of Syncrospares, I live just around the corner. Jon is kind enough to let me work alongside him for the day which means I learn on the job which is great. They give me the confidence to start working and taking bits off!
I'ld love a pop but cost benefit ratio puts me off I must admit. I would need a lot of trips to balance up the cost vs an awning which we will need either way. I don't tend to do huge amounts of cooking so its not a huge problem, but will keep that up my sleeve for when I need to convince Becky!
I like the sound of this twin slider. Is it a Syncro? I'll look forward to seeing the conversion thread soon then!
Yep, I've been speaking to Jon a lot recently too; he seems like a sound bloke.
The project is just a Caravelle Cl! Want to make it a syncro! Dad bought it when I was only 2 or 3, and sold it in my mid twenties. I bought it back recently. Want to use it, and a syncro camper is pretty much the only thing I need/want now, so what else would do it more justice?!
After seeing the three of you sleep in the back of the doka I'm not surprised you fancy a few luxuries.
Sounds like a full on project. Be good to start with a clean slate though and do exactly as you want. I have seen a couple 2wd to Syncro conversions come out of Syncrospares and they have both looked pretty nice. The last grey one looked awesome I thought!
If you end up going for it be sure to stop in. I am literally walking distance from the garage.

I'll post some up when it looking tidy
Looks great Greg - I'm very pleased for you and I'm sure it'll give you and the family years of pleasure.

Thanks Rich.
We are loving our new space and have 'moved in' seamlessly. We are down the coast in it most weekends, last week it was Putsborough. Usually we'd sit around saying "if only this was like this, or that was like that". We don't do that anymore, it just works for us. Mind you its taken us a few to get to this stage.
MOT coming up in a few weeks. Fingers and toes crossed for s smooth one!
