Help fitting windows

Hi all, after removing my side windows to roller paint my van I'm struggling to put the side windows back in. It's a panel van converted by autohomes. It has the window seals that has the seal strip you feed in with the window seal tool. I understand the string in the seal and pulling around doesn't work for panelled van so any help please from anyone who has fitted these is would be of help

I had mine refitted a few years ago. It took two guys, one inside and one outside. I'm pretty sure they used the string method but you definitely need someone outside to hold the glass against the aperture as it's almost 90 degrees to the floor and to put pressure against the edge - not a one man job. It should go in reasonably easy without the strip in the rubber. A centre sliding window section can be a bit of a pain apparently as it's flat and the window aperture is very slightly convex; that's what they told me at any rate.....

It's under 'Weatherstrip window fitting guide'
You might find it easier if you invest in a 'sucker holding device' to hold the glass. I got mine from Amazon for about £7-00p

one man, easy when youve done a few...........................dozens :lol:no string for the side types. look were fitting some this next week so think it might be a good idea to video it and post up

I would be very interested to see that video Mike, I have the same windows and mine will need to come out to weld up / make good.
It would also be a good reference point for anyone looking to do the same in the future.

get some proper window suckers and a diamond lacing tool and its easy on ya own, ok Im in a similar boat to metalmick8y having done loads but there not that hard!

Thanks all for your replies, I assume I put the rubber around the glass then offer it up ton the frame and not put the rubber seal on frame and try to feed the glass into it? Got all 4 windows to put back in so want to do it right.

seal into frame hole on van, then glass into seal then locking strip into seal
for factory fits tghen seal round glass ( chrome trim if any inserted) then string round seal and the whole lot into van
