new belgian member, 1988 panel

Post by koendd »

hey all!

since there's no project section here, I'll just introduce me and my bus in the general chat...

So I'm from belgium and crazy about everything with 4 (or 2) wheels and has an engine :)

First car I bought was an Opel kadett C 1977 (1.2)
bought like this when I was 18:

and after 4 years of restoring looks like this:

besides my daily golf 4 tdi I bought a t25 panel van in december 2011.

came with a pretty worn out 1.6JX which used/leaked loads of oil... plans were to go to France this summer so started on the van asap. But we bought a house as well last year so not that much spear time. But i made the deadline.
One week before we left on holliday the van was repainted, after that (indeed in that 1 week) I fitted a 1.9 diesel from golf 3 (so 1Y non turbo) and 2 days before we left the van was roadworthy again...

bought a cheap (100£!) interior and a better rear bumper

then after lots of welding (wheel arches, front steps etc started sanding the bus)

haha, No idea! bought it like that...

But the interior came from a german scrap bus that was sitting outside with no windows (and a the time it was snowing here)

(that's what I tell myself and choose to believe  )
