T4 early stalks into T3 - possible?

Post by silverbullet »

I have the early 2-spoke T4 wheel in my bus and quite like the idea of having the corresponding later stalks to match. I know that the ignition lock unit has the same generic VW positions for the 3 mounting screws, same as Golf etc. and since the above wheel is a direct swap I reckon the stalks won't be a total nightmare to fit famous last words)

I appreciate that the column shroud will need cutting/reworking/changing, but has anyone seen this mod or done it themselves?

I think that the Polo stalks might be a bit short when used with the 16" T4 wheel? I'm just trying to move away from the irritating (to me) lop-sided original stalks....what were VW thinking?
