Springs and shockers

Hi guys & girls
I'm thinking about upgrading the suspension on my syncro camper(15" with BFG AT's.) Options are Seikel (1194 Euro) from Bernd Jäger or TrailmasterHD (1049euro) from syncro-services.
Has anybody got any experience/advice for me regarding these products??

How much you lifting by? (Remember you poor CV's)
I just fitted some 2WD fronts & cut up some old cutting boards for a 24mm lift allround.
Cost........ £20 & a whole lot of swearing!!

I want to change the whole shocks set and I was thinking a new OEM set or one with 2" or more of suspension travelling...

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks for the responses, The reason I'm considering is because when I'm loaded up for a trip and also pulling a trailertent the back end is sitting pretty low. I also have a Syncro DoKa (not competition ) which has 20mm spacers on top of the standard spacer and this causes the standard shockers to bottom out even when going over small bumps. Just wanted to avoid this, thats all. The option of shocker extensions is a no no as I would never get them through the strict MOT regs here in Switzerland.

I'm very happy with the Andreas springs that I've got. They are fitted with new standard 14" shocks all round (from BW) with Futbus ball joint spacers on the front and shock extenders on the rear. I think I've seen that Andreas is doing another run. I think that this sort of set up would also work out a bit cheaper than the two options you suggest. I'm no expert like many are on here but if you want to PM me for a number I'd be happy to talk it over.

Oops! Just seen what you've written about shock extenders 16" rear shock might work though??

Had already thought about the Futbus option and just removing them for the MOT but when I looked on their website I couldn't find any sign of the shock extensions. It's also a bit iffy in the case of an accident. I think i can rule out the Seikels after reading Paddys' reply and maybe consider OMEs' and Trailmaster

Avo shocks baxter does are I think 25mm longer. I don't get top out and I'm sitting at 530mm arch to wheel centre. Needs front bushes sorting though which I can do.

The MAD rear springs mike Ghia is selling are really good have them on my camper and a friends camper, got a set to go on a panel van in a week or two and a set waiting to go on my doka. No difference in ride but a lift and what looks like an un breakable pig tail.

I suppose it could be said that no matter what springs you fit to your Syncro, the fact remains that the GVW of a Syncro is 2500kgs *. So with that in mind, I would fit standard springs ( as designed by VW for the Syncro as they know better than all of us put together) and standard shocks. If, however, you wish to lif the vehicle, then a lift kit in the form of a spacer kit from Syncro Services or the like will work well. You will need longer rear shocks to prevent 'top out' and Trailmaster do just the shock for you! You dont need top ball joint spacers or 8mm collars on the front suspension **, but you can fit them if you wish.

* Cue people to tell me that there is a special certificate available to 2680kgs - and where do you get them?
** Cue people to tell me that you do need top ball joint spacers or 8mm collars on the front suspension - but you dont really ..... all that for an extra 8mm or so??
