Anyone know if the 16" syncro arches were bonded on in anyway??
Just removed one of mine on the rear and it's been siliconed on. The one on the other side had not been bonded at all.

Re: Syncro 16 arch fitting
The 3 that were fitted to my van, had never been removed, they were not bonded. Now they are, as the little studs gave up when they got removed

Re: Syncro 16 arch fitting
I've removed 2 sets both were fixed with the studs and then a line of what looked and felt like standard silicone although cant say for sure if this was an original method from factory - I think I read that silicone can react with paint? Or some such. No signs of this on mine, just a bugger to remove.

Silicone is ok on paint but releases acid as it cures...so can cause rust, you can get a handy remover from wickets to soften it so it comes of easy.

Re: Syncro 16 arch fitting
Well I was pretty committed to removing them without snapping the studs and after 5 years of regular wd40 the nuts all came off ok.
I was just surprised to see silicon behind the left rear as it appears they've all been on there from new.
Will probally use a non setting sealer when I refit just to limit the chance of it rusting under the arch.
Cheers lee.
