I have coolant seeping from near the top of my cylinder head (2.1 waterboxer). Its not the head gasket and I see no reason why the head should suddenly have developed a crack and it appears to be coming from under one of the flanged nuts that holds down the head. It has been suggested that in the first instant I could try one of the copper-based rad sealers which might help. Does anyone have any experience of these and can recommend a particular brand and would they be compatible with the G12++ antifreeze?
Alternatively, would it be advisable or not to remove the individual nut then re-seal it and re-torque it? Admittedly that task would be a bit beyond my own comfort zone.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Phil

Coolant seepage
The worrying thing about middle age is knowing that you'll grow out of it.

Re: Coolant seepage
The flanged *sniggers* nuts should have a (yellow ?) sealant around the nut flange to the head joint.
