JX to AAZ right hand side engien mount bolts

Post by jas915 »

hi, just putting the engine mount from the jx onto the AAZ, the left hand side is fine(ie the manifold side)
On the other side(right hand side) the bolts form the jx don't seem to be the same thread as the AAZ block, im thinking it may just be full of rubbish as it doesn't look like the bolt holes in the AAZ block have ever had bolts in. So basically ive cleaned the holes the best i can but the bolt still goes tight like its the wrong thread after a couple of turns. so do i need some different bolts.

Accepted thing to do is run a tap down it - that'll clear all the rust and gunk.

... and if you don't have a tap, do it the long way: couple of turns, back out and then a spray of light oil. Back in, couple of turns, back out, spray ... etc & etc. It will go in eventually - I had exactly the same thing when I went from JX to AAZ.

And if you think this is tough, wait til you have to bleed the AAZ injection pump ;-)

The rust can cause those bolts to pull out...I had to heli coil one of mine and opted to fit studs for maximum grip.
