is anyone towing a trailer with a 1y/aef engine?

Wondered if anyone out there is towing a trailer (up to 750kgs) with a 1y or aef powered van. If so, how do you get on with it, especially interested how it handles hills and long drags on the motorways. We've come to the conclusion that camping with the van + awning isnt right for us. We're considering a trailer tent.

I'd love to but I'd have a hard time selling that idea to my wife!

We are using our 1.7D DOKA this year
It's a slow ride, but reliable.
This season We've done Cornwall, Gower and the Cotswolds towing our pop top caravan (650kgs) unlaiden
Plus the kids, only three of them this year and all the kit.
We were down to 20mph on the steepest of the climbs
Is realy a question of cost for us
While its all functioning ok I'm content to suffer the embarrassment of having a stream of cars behind us

I think i may have over estimated the weight of the trailer - seems its not likely to exceed 500kg even with all the gear packed into it .

also, the AEF should be packing 7 more horses and 15 more torques (as they say on top gear) than the KV.

looks like the embarrasement factor may be the decider.
