JX Diesel Injector Pipes

Post by Hdickins »

My Turbo Diesel T3 (JX?) has developed a bad leak in one of the injector pipes.
So I was planning on getting some replacement pipes from Brickwerks.
It looks like an easy job to replace them myself, but is there anything tricky about it before I take the plunge?

Do the pipes need to be torqued up to a particular value? (And so, will I need a torque wrench??)
Will I need to bleed the fuel system at all?
Anything else I need to lose sleep-over before I start?

Thanks in advance! :D

You will need a17mm open spanner and some gloves, do 1 at a time or mark them in some way.

Spanner? check!
Gloves? check!
If that's all it takes, I'm not too worried.
Thanks for the reassurance. :D

Make sure that you have all the plastic clamps on otherwise you may well be finding yourself doing it again soon.

When I did mine I did them one at a time and started the engine between each one, this way you don't have to worry about bleeding the whole system on the one pipe you have done, and this can be done with a running (on 3 cylinders) engine, so its a piece of cake
