A bit of smoke

Post by scottbott »

Rather foolishly I put ten litres of fuel that had a small amount of diesel in it,I kept topping it up with unleaded and have now noticed blue smoke coming out of the silencer when I change up a gear no smoke comes out if I go down a hill on the overrun,if I stick my foot down nothing comes out only on the change of gear when my foot goes down,is it a bit of diesel burning off??,it is not using oil and is running fine pretty much as it was before the diesel/unleaded mix went in,thanks

I did this years ago with an old car I had, got free fuel from a mis fuelled car. Was a good idea at the time but it took a while to get rid of all the traces of diesel. I eventually ran it dry changed the in line filter, filled it up with fresh fuel and problem solved.

Personally I stick me head out of the window when I start her up just for the first few seconds i can sniff the beautiful smell of diesel. Reminds me of the smell of fair ground rides or trawler boats when I was a kid. Arrrrrrr love it.
